As mentioned in class, I would greatly appreciate your help in filling out the survey described below. This survey is meant as a baseline for measuring the impact of my redesign of CMSC 131 (Object oriented programming). I know you are constantly bombarded with surveys/quizzes/etc. In return for your participation, I will award you full credit for one assignment (reading quiz, exit ticket, or Rosalind problem, but not a midterm). Once you complete the survey please enter below which assignment you would like to be credited with. Thank you for your help!
The Teaching and Learning Transformation Center at University of Maryland seeks your assistance in completing an online survey, which is available to undergraduates in redesigned courses. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact and effectiveness of the redesigned course on your perceptions’ of learning climate, self-regulation, and needs. In short – we want to know your perceptions of your class.
The survey should not take more than fifteen minutes to complete and will be of great use to our research project. We will not ask for any identifying information except for certain demographics (course, section, age, gender, class level, etc.). You may choose to skip these questions; however, it is also important to note that all responses will be confidential.
If we write a report or article about this research project, your identity will be protected to the maximum extent possible. Your information may be shared with representatives of the University of Maryland, College Park or governmental authorities if you or someone else is in danger or if we are required to do so by law.
If you have any questions you can directly contact our research group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
